PARK WINE STARS

The seventh Park Wine Stars festival dedicated to top wine and upscale cuisine is over.

The visitors were very excited by the event and appreciated above all the relaxed socializing with friends while sipping a glass of excellent wine. This is in fact what they have been missing most.

Special attention was paid to wine originating from all four winegrowing areas of the Primorska Region: Brda, the Vipava Valley, Kras, and Slovenian Istra. The event featured 20 winemakers, wine cellars or wineries, as the case may be, each of them presenting three types of wine: Klet Brda, Belica, Bjana, Vinska klet Ferdinand, Vinarstvo Mužič, Vinarstvo Mavrič and Reja Vino, Klet Vipava 1894, Vina Sveti Martin, Klet Štoka, Štokelj, Posestvo Tilia, Vina Kobal, Wine estate Sutor, Vina Krapež, Fedora, Renčel, Vinakoper, Korenika & Moškon, and Pucer z Vrha. Besides international varieties the festival included also local, traditional, and autochthonous wine (Rebula, Malvasia, Zelen, Pinela, Klarnica, Vitovska Grganja, Barbera, etc.), which intrigued the visitors. The guests were able to vote their favourite wine, thus actively engaging in the event. The first place went according to both juries to the representatives of the Klet Brda wine cellar for their 2015 A+ red wine. The Pucer z Vrha wine cellar from Nova vas nad Dragonjo received an award for their 2018 Malvasia Sinfonietta Marina.

The gourmet character of the festival was expressed by the upscale dishes prepared by 11 Hit Cooks who presented the cuisine typical of the Hit Hotels. The Park Hotel was represented by Adi Blaško, Anže Klemše, and Marjana Štrukelj. The Perla was represented by Matjaž Šinigoj and Dragan Marić, the Lipa by Toni Ferizović and Tim Pavletič, and the Sabotin by Matic Rusjan and Kaja Pervanja. There was also a sweet surprise for all dessert lovers by Isidora Cvetković and Marina Užar from the Kranjska Gora-based Korona Hotel.

The visitors were also intrigued by the “sommelier corner”, where they were able to see the Riedl select wine glasses and learn how they are supposed to be used depending on the different wine varieties. Last but not least, the Park waiters put on display the correct table setting.
